Unfortunately for me I don’t think there’s any product that can save the hair I have left. But your site has a lot of useful information on hair treatment and I know my wife will be very interested to learn of some products that can help her have healthier hair so I will be sharing this with her.

While the light version of argan oil is better to use on skin because it absorbs faster, doesn’t leave you with the oily mess and has a lighter smell. However, it doesn’t contain linoleic and oleic acids (fatty acids). Both these fatty acids have been proven to be able to reduce inflammation and increase hair hydration.

Linoleic acid promotes hair growth and also maintains a healthy scalp condition. Both linoleic and oleic acids control water loss in hair, making hair softer.

Thanks for the response! I didn’t know that the light version of argan oil doesn’t contain essential fatty acids. So pretty much the light version isn’t really worth the money if you want all the benefits of argan oil. Strange that it’s the same price as the original argan oil, at least Josie Maran’s version.

I glad you found some information on my site. Even though Josie Maran’s version doesn’t have full benefits for hair use, it has excellent benefits for skin.

I had severely damaged hair from 2 home bleach jobs and more hair colourings for a couple of years and it took me 3 years to repair this damage. Since then I stopped experimenting with my hair and I go to a hairdresser. These days she only colors and highlights my roots every 2-3 months and what’s problematic is that those hairs at the roots are breaking off so I have shorter chunks. You can’t notice it as I the rest of my hair is long unless well you’re a hairdresser doing my hair. I do have my bottle of Argan oil in my drawer so I will try it out and see if it can help. Josie Maran makes a “light” argan oil. Can a light argan help as well?
